I am the Pricing Manager for the Canadian fuels marketing business at Chevron. I manage a team of pricing specialists who execute pricing for service stations, cardlocks, marinas, and commercial buyers of fuels for pickup and delivery.
Although my current role focuses on one of the 4P’s, I love marketing and business generally and participate broadly in our business. I joined Chevron in 2006 starting in a Strategy & Planning group, did a tour in a Field Operations role, returned to the office to run Brand Advertising & Loyalty programs, was a Category Manager for the convenience store business, and moved into my current pricing role in 2011. I read every pricing-related customer email sent to Chevron Canada (is the name calling really necessary?).
I started my career in the technology sector and I am always looking for ways it can improve our business. I am an Excel ninja, I break down big data with Spotfire, pull what I need out of SQL-based databases (or hack one together), and know enough about writing code to throw together a bit of VBA when I need to.
Prior to Chevron, I completed my MBA at the London Business School in the UK.
In some ways I’m the prototypical transplant from Ontario to British Columbia who fell in love with the mountains and the active lifestyle of Vancouver and the West. I moved to BC to attend the University of British Columbia where I attained my Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Exercise Science). Despite enjoying the degree itself, all I really wanted to do at graduation was play drums in a rock band. We collected tens of dollars in radio play royalties! It wasn’t until later that I found my professional calling.
These days, you’ll find me on the mountain or road bike in the summer and on skis in the winter. I also play Ultimate Frisbee in several leagues throughout the year and enjoy running when biking doesn’t work out.
I love business and technology and keep current on both.
In 2016, I attained my private pilot license (PPL), and aviation has become my latest
I live in Vancouver with my lovely wife Timberly. You can call us The Tims if you like. She’s a physiotherapist and can fix your broken (physical) self.
