About Tim

I am the General Manager, British Columbia at Swish Maintenance Limited, a company dedicated to delivering clean, safe, and healthy living environments. We are experts in all things cleaning related and we help customers extend the life of their capital assets, keep employees and customers healthy, and ultimately use clean to drive bottom lines. As General Manager, I have overall responsibility for our regional operation but spend most of my time focused on sales management and coaching of operations staff.

Prior to Swish, I spent 11 years at Chevron, where I was the Pricing Manager for the Canadian fuels marketing business.  Over my tenure, I also held roles covering brand and loyalty management, category management, field operations, and strategy and planning. In my final role at Chevron, I worked on the sale of Chevron Canada’s marketing assets to eventual buyer Parkland Fuel Corporation and decided that I would pursue another opportunity rather than join the acquiring organisation.

I started my career in the technology sector and I am always looking for ways it can improve our business. I am an Excel ninja, I break down big data with analytics tools like Spotfire or PowerBI, pull what I need out of SQL-based databases (or hack one together), and know enough about writing code to be dangerous when I need to.

Prior to Chevron, I completed my MBA at the London Business School in the UK.

In some ways I’m the prototypical transplant from Ontario to British Columbia who fell in love with the mountains and the active lifestyle of Vancouver and the West. I moved to BC to attend the University of British Columbia where I attained my Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Exercise Science). Despite enjoying the degree itself, all I really wanted to do at graduation was play drums in a rock band. We collected tens of dollars in radio play royalties! It wasn’t until later that I found my professional calling.

These days, you’ll find me on the mountain or road bike in the summer and on skis in the winter. I also play Ultimate Frisbee in several leagues throughout the year and enjoy running when biking doesn’t work out.

I love business and technology and keep current on both.

In 2016, I attained my private pilot license (PPL), and aviation has become my latest obsession hobby.

I live in Vancouver with my lovely wife Timberly. You can call us The Tims if you like. She’s a physiotherapist and can fix your broken (physical) self.
